Leadership
trips

Leadership trips are essential for young adults because they nurture early leadership, shape unique journeys, foster self-regulation and learning, embrace humor and integrity, and prioritize youth leadership. These experiences equip young adults with skills for the future.

The Protege Mission's leadership trip to Nosara, Costa Rica offers U.S. youth participants a transformative experience that combines adventure, cultural immersion, and community engagement. By stepping outside of their comfort zones and embracing new challenges, participants not only contribute to positive change but also emerge as empowered global citizens equipped to navigate an increasingly interconnected world.

This annual mission trip is a cornerstone of our commitment to global citizenship and community service. Each November, select members (based on progress and assessment metrics) will have the opportunity to join our team on this transformative journey. Additionally, we are proud to sponsor one program graduate to participate in the mission trip, providing them with a unique opportunity for personal growth, cultural immersion, and service.

This immersive experience offers selected U.S. youth participants the opportunity to not only contribute to community initiatives but also to gain exposure to the rich Costa Rican culture. Through adventure outings, cultural involvement, and Spanish-speaking communication, participants will apply the language skills they've learned in the program while broadening their horizons and fostering cross-cultural understanding.
